God is Awesome

Yesterday, I began battling with the water company to have the services activated. I switched the service the day after the previous tenant scheduled the services to be disconnected. The city sent a technician to shut off the water while he (former tenant) was still in the house!

So today, I was granted a customer assistance call and a technician came out to the house and turned on the valve from the street. Took all of two seconds.

The former tenant was at the house and he is a very kind man. He came over to finish cleaning the kitchen. He saw me attempting to change the locks on the house and he stepped right in and took over. He changed all the locks and the door knobs. I was prepared to pay a lock smith. (I wanted the locks changed because I do not know how many keys are floating around to the property.)

Saturday, NyCee closed the master bedroom door and it was in the lock position. The former tenant did not have a key. However, he managed to pop open the lock with a card and then was kind enough to replace the knobs on two of the doors that had key locks. And he did all this for free!

He told me he is a single parent so he understands how hard it can be. He even offered to put together my table and chair set. He is just a very kind man. I knew that he would not take money from me so I am going to buy him a gift card in the morning and mail it. Just a means of showing my appreciation.
