"And There Goes The Other One..."

In the course of one week, my child went front having two front teeth, to losing one tooth, to snaggle tooth. This is too much for me to handle. And I realized earlier that 20 days from today, she will be 5 years old! OMG - and she goes to kindergarten in August! My gosh, next she will be graduating from medical school and getting married!!

The Tooth Fairy Rides Tonight

NyCee finally lost one of the four loose teeth in the front of her mouth. Ironically, it is not the tooth that she knocked about two years ago. That tooth has been hanging on... LOL... I prayed that tooth would not come out as my child could not walk around front toothless for several years.

After taking her to see the dentist in January, he convinced me that she is at the age to start losing the teeth. She is so excited for the tooth fairy to bring coins to put under her pillow tonight.

side thought: We were scheduled to take family pictures like two weeks ago but I had to re-schedule the appointment. Now, she will have a toothless smile in the portrait.

Happy Valentine's Day

NyCee received a card and gift from her grandfather. She was so excited!

I bought the kids lunch boxes and filled them with various items. NyCee received puzzles and flash cards. Little Fred received toy dinosaurs and cars.

Happy Valentine's Day to all!!!

Be sure to show love to the ones you love!!

A Day of Rest

The kids and I spent the day at home. Little Fred is not feeling well so he just laid around and watched TV most of the day. He would dose off to sleep every now and then.

I spent the day grading papers and catching up on work from the week.

Taylor spent the day playing in the play room. It was good to just rest and do nothing.

As an added bonus, we stayed in PJs all day. This was the first time in years I that I have spent an entire day in PJs. Sometimes, we just need to rest. Although I was working, it was not strenuous.

Today was a much needed, well-deserved, day of rest.

Official First Day

Today was my official first day at my new job. Except, I didn't do anything different. On Monday, I had my first staff meeting. It was held via teleconference with my boss. He introduced me and six (6) other new full time faculty members. The meeting only lasted about 30 minutes. It is a quick exchange of information and an open forum to ask questions.

As I drove into work this morning, I felt especially liberated. I could have walked away from all the emails and non-sense that I deal with on a daily basis and not looked back. Although, I will not do that as I am not that type of person. It made me smile inside to know that I have the option.

The benefits package at my new job is expensive. The insurance carrier is Blue Cross Blue Shield. The coverage is superb but wow - it ought to be for the price. Everything is a trade-off.

Oh, I registered NyCee for Kindergarten yesterday. She was so excited. She will not meet the teacher until May but she is aware that she will be going to a new school after the summer is over. It is hard to believe my little girl will be five (5) years old in March. My gosh - time really does fly by.
